Microsoft will end its support for the web browsing software "Internet Explorer (IE)" on June 15 (Beijing time), local time.

The Microsoft Edge browser announced through its official Weibo on May 16 that after the official retirement of the IE browser, its functions will be taken over by the Edge browser. In response, Microsoft explained that Microsoft Edge not only offers greater security and is more modern than its predecessor, but also guarantees "compatibility with older, legacy websites and apps".
"Microsoft Edge has built-in IE mode, so you can access those legacy IE-based websites and applications directly from Microsoft Edge," Microsoft said.
As the world's first browser with a highest market share of 95%, IE has opened and witnessed an era, so that in the subconscious of many old users, its logo with the letter "e" as the core has become a browser synonym for device. However, since the second half of the 2000s, the share of IE has continued to decrease. Statistics from the analysis website StatCounter show that the current share of IE has dropped from 65% in January 2009 to less than 1%.
